Not many people know of this tunnel but it is located on Vein Mountain Road near all the Gold Mining sites.

As you can see it is prone to flooding during heavy rains that have been persistent FOR DAYS ONLY.

It is a one lane tunnel with a small creek that runs through it.
There is a stop light on both sides of tunnel.
It was built in 1907.

As you can also tell it sometimes endures graffiti. And the state department from time to time will try and cover most of it up with black tar.

  1. Finally they have set the "weighted Red light controls" for a scooter with 1 passenger , maybe even a cyclist , as we DO have cycle tours through here . I used to have to CHANCE it , several times meeting a car coming around Blind bend Eastside. One lane = a head on collision ! Nakemo 4155 Vein Mountain Rd

  2. I have been through that tunnel recently. It is beautiful and shame on the people who paint graffiti on it.
